korean bbq time @ han hyang

Yesterday Boo-chan came home early so we decided to go eat Korean BBQ. The only problem was the restaurant we usually go to was closed, so we decided to try a new place. As we were walking around Shibuya (渋谷) looking for a new place, we stumbled upon a Han Hyang (炭火焼肉 韓郷 ). It looked decent so we decided to try it out.

The restuarant was on the 4th floor of a building. We took the elevator up and found a very simple natural wood color interior. The weird thing was the whole place was full of ONLY guys. Guess it was a guys night out?

We started with a Choregi Salad (チョレギ サラダ). It was seasoned just right and had leafy greens, cucumbers, and white long onions. Was delish!

I love cucumber kimchi (oi kimchi).

They also served us Korean steamed egg (卵蒸し) which was very tasty.

As for meat, we ordered salted beef tongue (牛タン塩). You grill it and dip it in lemon juice–so tasty!

We also order  salted Nakaochi Kalbi (中落ちカルビ, 塩). This meat is tender and juicy.

We also order a spicy Yukke Jyan Soup (ユッケジャン).

Boo-chan likes to eat raw horse meat, called Sakura Yukke (桜ユッケ). I used to like eating raw meats until I got food poisoning from it, now I stay away. But Boo-chan said it was nice.

We ordered premium kalbi ribs (上カルビ) and premium skirt steak (上ハラミ). Someone I was so excited to eat my kalbi that I forgot to snap a pic. Atleast I got the skirt steak.

We ended the meal with cheese bibimbap served in a stone pot (石焼チーズビビンバ). This was delish.

I was craving meat at my workout last night so I was happy we came here. It was fun to listen to Korean pop music and look at the big posters of K-pop stars on the walls. I like the food here, but they sometimes put too much salt seasoning on the meat, but other then that everything was great!
