heated pool @ new otani hotel

It’s the middle of spring and the weather is warming up, the air is dry and the sun is shining. I get an invite from Moda to go to Hotel New Otani Tokyo’s pool. They open the pool up just for Golden Week and heat it to 38C/100F. I love swimming so I quickly replied with an excited “YES!” Time to work on my summer tan in APRIL– me, Moda, Mr T, Fee, RiRi and Kimi hit up the pool yesterday.

1. It’s a maze to get to the pool, but you get to walk through the beautiful garden area.  2. Some of the carp were extremely large.

The pool is open from 10:00am to 4:30pm so we decided to get there as early as possible to assure we could get out beach chairs. When we first arrived we were handed a blue large towel, a terry cloth robe and locker keys. It was off to change into our bathing suits and hit the pool. 1. Kimi, me and RiRi sporting our cute robes.  2. We knew that pool would be crowded. Luckily we got 6 chairs lined in a row.

There were 2 pools–the kiddie pool (the front left) and the adult pool (back).  The adult pool has a small area allotted  for diving board fun. They have plenty of lifeguards patrolling the pool.

The pool was sooo warm and felt great. You can also rent inner tubes and beach balls to play with. There was a slight breeze, so it was a little cool exposing body parts out of the water, but as it became closer to noon the temperature warmed right up.  Right next to our beach chairs there was a tiny jacuzzi that was even warmer then the pool. 1. The six of us piled on in–a tight squeeze! 2. Gittin’ our tan on.

The pool has a drink service–so the boys and Kimi order alcoholic drinks. They had regular drinks as well as island themed cocktails. They sounded tasty but I didn’t want to drink so early in the morning–hahah. I stuck with bottled water. They have a restaurant on the second floor, they serve a variety of food. I recommend the island cheeseburger (pic from a previous visit).

There was nothing like swimming in the spring. We all tanned, swam and had a great time! But I have to say my bikini body was definitely NOT ready. From now until summer time definitely need to work on that. hahahah. When was the last time you went swimming?
