I love all the TY Express Restaurants. So I was so glad that Nancy invited me to lunch at TY Harbor Brewery. I rarely make it out here because it’s a little far from my house. But once in a while its fun to dine here.
The restaurant was once a warehouse, but now is a beautiful restaurant with its own independent microbrewery. It’s sits on the waterfront and has large terrace that is heated in the winter and cooled in the summer.
We decided to dine in the restaurant and were quickly shown to our seats. I like TY Harbor bc the menu changes daily and weekly. You have your choice of soup, salad, sand, pasta, special or steak as the main entree. Each entree is served with a salad, bread and either coffee or ice tea.
Since Nancy and I couldn’t decide on what we wanted to eat, we decided to share our food: we ordered the sand and steak. There are many different sets that can be added to your meal. The Soup set, Dessert Set, or the Special Set which includes soup and dessert. We both opted for the Special set. Can’t pass up a good deal!
First our salads came out. They were a lot bigger then I had imagined and full of leafy greens topped with alfalfa sprouts. We were also served refillable tropical ice tea. It was refreshing.
Our hearty Lentil Soup with Bacon came to follow. They were good sized bowls, not to big or too small. It was a sunny day but still cold outside, so this soup hit the spot!
Next comes our food! Grilled Sirloin Steak with Pepper Corn Sauce and Vegetables. The steak was medium rare and cooked to perfection. It was tender and juicy.
We also shared the sand-Shrimp Salad on Wheat Bread. It was served with a larger heaping of fries.
The sandwich was thick and stuffed with shrimp salad, sliced tomatoes and lettuce. It was tasty. (Sorry this is a bit blurry but I wanted to show all the shrimp salad packed into this sandwich.)
We were so full after. I think the soup and salad was a lot, but after splitting the steak and sando we were completely stuffed. I love french fries–we have a love hate relationship, and I couldn’t even finish all of them. We chit-chatted for awhile to settle our tummies.
But as they say, you can never be too full for dessert! And so we devoured our NY Cheesecake. It was creamy and rich. It melted in your mouth. It’s hard to find real cheesecake in Tokyo. This has to be one of the best I’ve had.
After our enjoyable lunch we relaxed a tad bit more. Then it was off to shopping we go. Where are some your favorite lunch spots? What do you like to eat for lunch?
