  1. HI There! I read your blog and review on nails in Tokyo and i wanted to find out what salon could you recommend. I need to get nail extensions and I can’t find a place which will do the nail files in order to lengthen my nails. In your blog on nails, according to your description and photos it looks like its precisely what i need and this is for my wedding date, so i really am in need of your help. Could you please help me out? Thank you so much for your help!

    • Hi nune–first off CONGRATS on your engagement and soon to be wedding!! I will try and help you as much as I can!!

I actually have a couple places i go to, depending on what I want. here is the information deets on the salon i went to in my nails blog. can you read japanese? its called March Nails http://www.nailsalon-march.com/. I used to go to the one in Shinjuku becuase it was close to my old work, but the one I got my nails done at is in Shibuya. they have many locations so you can find the one nearest to you.

When you make an appointment on the phone, they will ask you if you have nails right now–that need to be taken off, and what type of nails you want. you want nagasa dashi gel nails. which means to put tips then coat them with gel. when you go there you can tell them you want your nails done for your wedding and I am sure they can help you with any art or designs you want.

my wedding nails, I went to a different salon and they were my natural nails. but i did gyaku french, with lace and glitter. and then i had 3-d art which was the flower on my ring finger with stones. you can choose something simple or flashy.

hope this helps. let me know if you need anymore help!! good luck!

  2. AWESOME! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I will try to contact them tomorrow in the morning and make an appointment. I typically would go with a natural nail as well, but unfortunately my nails are pretty short now and it just looks funny. So i’ve been looking for a place that would do an extention, but due to my limited Japanese and limited online sources, i was not able to find anything until i read your blog. So, THANK YOU! It seems that they do a good job, i hope it turns out good. Do they speak a little english or should i bring a japanese speaking friend along? I will get on their website now and try to make sense with my little Japanese. I appreciate your help and enjoy your blog alot! 🙂

  3. Oh to answer your question, i barely read Japanese, but i can get help. If there are other places that do this type of service and speak some english or would have english menu, please send my way as well, i would greatly appreciate it. You’ve saved me so much headache, thanks again!

    • I speak Japanese, so I am not 100% sure if they speak English or not. They might….but I think even if you don’t speak Japanese fluently you can get by in the nail salon since you can just point to the colors your want and they have nail magazines and photos of nails so you can
      communicate that way too.

Anyways here is another thing. if you didn’t know there is this beauty coupon type book/online site called hot pepper. they have everything from hair, nails, eyelashes, massages, everything. so march also has a coupon here is the one for the shop in shibuya. http://beauty.hotpepper.jp/kr/slnH000230186/

I usually use my natural nails, and its been a while since I did extensions (besides earlier this month) so I dont know of many places that do them either. But March does a good job, so I would recommend going there.
